Outreach and Donations

Dear supporters of Khacholing Center,

As we've done in past years, we’re reaching out to you for support as the year 2014 comes to a close. Although we have centers in New York and Minnesota, with students scattered throughout the United States, Khacholing Center is a small organization, and we depend on your generosity in order to continue our mission:

We are dedicated to teaching and preserving the Dharma of the Buddha, and in the true spirit of Bodhichitta, to providing compassionate aid to those in need.

So with that goal in mind, we’re asking for your end-of year contributions now, and commitments for donations during the year, 2015. Contributions can be made to the general fund of the Center, or to the Khacholing outreach program, which supports monks, nuns, students and the elderly in need in India.

Either a lump sum donation or a commitment to a monthly amount are welcome. Even a small commitment of $10 a month will be of great help. Checks should be made payable to Khacholing Center. We are a tax exempt non-profit organization, and donations are tax deductible. Our tax ID number is EIN # 41-1919026. Receipts for general donations will be provided on request.

Many of you have generously contributed to our outreach program over the years. Our Spiritual Director Gankar Tulku Rinpoche initiated the outreach program in 2009. Since then 32 sponsors responded with funds for sponsorships for eight nuns, six students and 33 monks. We have received a total of over $11,000 in the past five years and the funds have been distributed to the recipients in India. The outreach program is now managed by the New York Center Director, Tenzing Chhodak.

Under Tenzing’s management, sponsorship donations may be made as described below:

1. To sponsor a monk or a nun is $10 a month or $120 a year
2. To sponsors a poor or old and infirmed person is $10 a month or $120 a year
3. To sponsor a student is $30 a month or $360 a year
4. To sponsor an elderly person is $10 per month or $120 a year
